Ski tuning the best!!! After getting the tune up at Action, I was skiing better than ever. I know they use some kind of auto stone grinder. A friend of mine went elsewhere(New York State) for a tune up, and was unable to turn, and had to resort to a snowplow. She had to get them re-tuned at the mountain, and they still are not right. There is an art to this. It has to be the right angle, you don't want to lose too much metal, and the tips and tails may or may not be detuned. I don't know anything about how it should be done, I'm just happy I went to Action in Old Saybrook again. I get it once per year.

Took my bike to another shop nearby where I was informed that No, I did not need new shifters, they just needed to be cleaned out and lubricated. Bottom line--Action Sports lied right to my face--more than once.
There are other options in the area. You want to get screwed, go to Action Sports. You want a pleasant experience--go any place other than Action Sports
I called Tuesday to find out what was going on. Owner answered the phone and told me that the mechanic had tried to call me on the 14th, which was the Thursday prior to original pick up date, to tell me I needed new shifters. No one ever called. And why didn't they say something when I was there Friday OR Sunday?!?! Needless to say I went in Tuesday and got my unfinished and unrepaired bike.
Horrible experience. Called on a monday to see how long it would take for a tune up. Was told bike would be ready on Friday. Went in Friday late morning and was told that they did not have a chance to look at it and to come back at the end of the day. I was not going to be able to so I said I would come back Sunday to pick up. Arrived Sunday and bike was still not ready. Owner said they would do it first thing Monday and deliver it to my house that afternoon. I paid for the tune up and went home. Monday came and went and still no bike.
